Today is Trudi's first day of retirement! It was a somber day at Yardley Insurance yesterday when Trudi walked out to her car. It was a mixture if tears and laughs as she wound down a 39-year career. Less than a few minutes later we got the first phone call from someone asking for Trudi! She has been so fantastic at what she does for a very long time. It will be an adjustment for us!
In a recent phone call, we were asked if a new ATV would be insured under the owner’s homeowners policy if if it was in their garage at the time of loss (i.e. stolen, fire, etc.). It is a great question, and an important one! In general, any motorized vehicle larger than a riding lawn mower (such as classic cars, ATVs, boats, snowmobiles, etc.) would not automatically be covered on a homeowners policy and would generally require its own policy. (While this is a good rule of thumb, it also includes some smaller vehicles, such as motorcycles.) Most often these policies are less expensive than other policies (such as car insurance) and can provide liability coverage, as well as property coverage for the item. Please let us know if you have any questions on what is or is not covered on homeowners insurance!
We encourage everyone to follow the guidelines set forth by President Trump in trying to confine and limit the spread of the virus. In so doing, we remain open for business. You can reach us by calling 435-676-2240, email [email protected] or by using our "contact us" page.
In the unlikely event we have to close our office at 609 N. Main in Panguitch, we can be contacted in any of the three ways described above. We are committed to providing dependable service to our insureds, just like we have been doing for the past 59 years! A homeowners policy does not cover earthquake (including settling or other earth-related movement) or flood (loosely defined as ground water, including rain). These are separate coverages that must be purchased. Earthquake can be added to your current policy with some carriers (some insurance companies no longer offer earthquake coverage). Flood coverage is a stand-alone policy, usually written by a specialty company or under a national flood or catastrophe program. Please contact us if you are interested in these coverages.
